After a chili distribution this morning under the cold rain, we made our way to the NYC Vegetarian Food Festival. We had such a great time! It’s always nice to feel the warmth of our community, to be among folks who care about animals, and who believe in the sustainability of the planet, and of course, it’s so nice to sample some really delicious food!
We met the awesome dudes from Vegan Zombies (and we’re stoked about potentially collaborating in the future), we finally met in person the wonderful and warm people at Evolve for Animals, we met some vegan kids, and a cow in The Solutionary School section where we enjoyed some really cool vegan kid activities. We had a sugar cookie (I forgot the vendor, but it was delicious!), and an empanada from V Spot, and some mac-n-cheeze from Marty’s Vegan Fast Food. We were unexpectedly interviewed for some youtube show (please if you know who was taping, let us know!) The best part was being among friends. Seeing people share ideas, share their hearts, share their foods! Such an amazing and heart warming time.
The festival continues tomorrow Sunday from 11am to 6pm. Chilis on Wheels will be attending the Just Food Conference and will not be stopping by. Can’t wait to see you all next year!
